Dessie Hall is the founder and executive director of Dessie Hall (DH) Consulting. Dessie launched DH in 2018. She provides an array of services to postsecondary institutions, organizations, businesses, and individuals. The services include leadership development and training, mentoring, coaching, and consulting.
Dessie worked for the State of Georgia for 25 years. During her tenure, she worked in higher education for 17 years. She served in the following roles: Special Populations Coordinator, Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Coordinator, Director of Student Activities, Title IX Coordinator, Transition Coordinator, Federal Work Study Coordinator, Career Advisor, and Club Advisor. As a result, she developed a passion for helping students and advisors achieve their goals.
Dessie had four head surgeries, three of which were brain surgeries. After overcoming these battles, she became a health advocate for those battling the same illnesses. Today, she advocates for people with rare brain conditions. Dessie started the Warriors with IIH, CSF Leak, and Hydrocephalus (WICH) Support Group in August 2019. She connects with warriors from around the world to offer tips, encouragement, and emotional support. She also provides ongoing support to warriors and their families.
As a health advocate, she teaches others how to advocate for themselves and make the most out of medical visits. She highly encourages individuals to seek a second opinion when surgery is recommended.
As an independent consultant, Dessie trains, inspires, and teaches students and advisors how to work together as a team, resolve issues, recruit and retain members, plan and host quality programs, and create a culture of caring.
As a speaker, she inspires others to take charge of their lives, health, and pursue their goals and dreams, regardless of their barriers. During her keynotes, she teaches individuals how to take their pain and create masterpieces. Dessie is a beacon of light to those she encounters.
